Rousselots Peptan® is a series of unique, high-purity bioactive collagen peptides. They are produced in a gentle enzymatic process that allows a precise degree of hydrolysis and optimum molecular weight to ensure superior performance and ease of handling.

Peptan® has been specifically designed to provide several health benefits and functional properties. Numerous scientific studies, including in vitro, in vivo and clinical research, have shown that Peptan® is both able to contribute to maintaining healthy joints, bones and tendons and thus to overall mobility, and that it leads to a youthful appearance of the skin.

HEALTHY AGING
Peptan® simultaneously promotes all the connective tissues of healthy agers by stimulating local cells in the target tissues to produce more collagen and other key matrix components. A wide range of studies has demonstrated its benefits for healthy joints and strong bones. Collagen peptides also support lean muscle mass and strength.

JOINT AND BONE HEALTH
Joint and bone healthcare is gaining recognition as a vital part of an active and sports-oriented lifestyle and also as a way of maintaining mobility at an older age. This trend offers dietary supplement manufacturers excellent opportunities. Peptan has been proven to improve joint function and flexibility and to maintain bone health – crucial benefits for those who wish to maintain an active lifestyle.

SPORTS NUTRITION
Proteins deliver numerous health benefits. Specific bioactive proteins – collagen peptides in particular – can offer benefits beyond muscle building. These include improving athletic performance, protecting connective tissues, supporting healthy joint maintenance and helping to reduce the risk of injury.

SKIN BEAUTY
Peptan's multiple anti-aging benefits are well-documented. In several clinical studies visible effects have been demonstrated after just one month of use. Peptan® can counteract the effects of aging and promote a more youthful appearance by boosting and restructuring the skin’s collagen network from within. By stimulating the production of hyaluronic acid, Peptan® also offers skin hydration benefits.

In addition to the use in food supplements and foods, the benefits of Peptan® can also be used in cosmetic preparations. The recommended dosage is 1% to 3%. More information is available in the brochure Peptan for Cosmetics.
Rousselot® has an extensive range of Collagen Hydrolysates derived from beef, pork or fish, whose average molecular weight is either 2,000 or 5,000 daltons with a low bulk density (Low Density) of about 250 g/l or approximately 400 g/l of high bulk density (High Density).

Peptan® is a fully digestible, pure protein (92% protein, 6% moisture, 2% mineral content) and contains all the essential amino acids except tryptophan, making it an universal source of protein for functional food, as well as in low-fat and low-carb products. Peptan® collagen peptides are particularly rich in alanine, arginine, glycine, glutamic acid and proline. Glycine, proline and hydroxyproline represent around 50% of Peptan's total amino acid content (the glycine and proline concentration in Peptan® is 10 to 20 times higher than in other proteins). As a result, Peptan® offers nutri-functional properties that cannot be found in other protein sources.

Peptan® can be combined with other proteins in order to achieve a balanced amino acid composition. With Peptan® F (Fish), Rousselot® offers a slightly different amino acid composition which can meet customer’s special requirements.

Alanine is involved in the energy supply of muscle tissue, the brain and the central nervous system. It also plays a role in the metabolism of sugars and organic acids, and strengthens the immune system through its contribution in the formation of antibodies.

Arginine contributes in the stimulation of the immune system involved in the wound healing process and hormone secretion.

Glutamic acid is not only an important stimulating neurotransmitter, but also accelerates the healing of ulcers and helps to fight fatigue.

Glycine strengthens the immune system and controls the release of oxygen in the cell formation process. It is a fast, inhibitory neurotransmitter.

Proline is important for the proper functioning of joints and cartilage. It is also involved in the strengthening of heart muscle.
